Description of site:

The Kingfisher Interpretive Centre Society (KICS) is a not-for profit, volunteer driven community based salmon hatchery and environmental education centre.  KICS was established almost three decades ago in response to the near extinction of salmon stocks in the Shuswap River.

The KICS runs programming through the spring and fall. This is a part of the Salmonids in the Classroom program that most SD Schools are a part of. These field trips are free and the programming is of a very high quality. Schools can use the space if available at no cost, particularly when school programs are not in session. Lots of snow accumulation here and great snowshoeing opportunities await. Call 250-838-6569 to book a day.
