Families sharing experiences in the learning process is essential. Parent volunteers come out of camp having learned about the outdoors and having shared a fun experience with their child. Each camp depends on parent drivers to help transport children to the outdoor location each day. These parents will also receive a registration discount for each day they are able to drive.

Our instructors at Shuswap Wild Wonders have diverse backgrounds. Among our instructors we have horticulturists, biologists, artists, specialists in leadership and each camp has at least one certified teacher. Each camp will have at least one instructor with a minimum of level one first aid. All instructors are experienced in the outdoors and have extensive experience working with children.

THE PEOPLE

PARENT VOLUNTEERS

Students will have various backgrounds, experiences and knowledge which they will bring with them to camp. We welcome all students eager to have fun, connect with the outdoors and who are keen to learn more about the Shuswap.  While learning more about the flora and fauna, they will also participate in team-building and leadership games and learn how to safely challenge themselves in different ways.

Most camps will have a maximum of 18 students, though more specialized camps such as canoe camps may have a lower maximum.  See our Camps section for details on the maximum number of students for each camp.
